The dialectic of ‘I want to look cool as fuck’ and ‘I don’t want people to look at me’.

See also: I want to outwardly be my true self but I don’t want my shortcomings to reflect on any groups I am part of.

you dress up for yourself, not for anyone else. if you’re going to be awkward and alone, might as well look epic while doing that.

am guy (feel free to execute me for being a guy in this community), and decided to dress for myself rather than for the great male renunciation. I wear a kilt around and made patches for it, I dress slightly fruty but not in any way anyone can label. because skirts with pokets are much more comfortable than pants.

Was awkward at the beginning, but it feels so good. only gotten compliments from cool people, and get ignored by people I would rather ignore myself. be yourself, be free (as long as it’s safe for you to do so).

as far as i know, the procedure for men in this community is forceful feminisation

i just looked for utility kilts on Amazon, lived 5 years in Scotland and never bought one due to choice anxiety.

keep in mind 99% of kilt rules aren’t Scottish, they are English rules made to ban and contol kilt usage. wear them however the fuck you want. unless you have an emotional connection to a specific org/clan you don’t need to get a specific pattern.

about your wife, imagine the roles being reversed, she wants to wear something but won’t because she fears your disapproval. see how that sounds? I feel guilty just making up that hypothetical. wear what you like, it isn’t your wife’s business, she can approve or ignore it.

oh, it’s not that, i just don’t want to rub her nose in it. she normally celebrates my unusualness but this is one i feel like i’ve got to ease her into.

kilt is a good way to ease her into you wearing skirts. because it’s still a “manly” thing and looks sexy. but be wants, the are comfortable
