Love this reply! It also fascinates me why alcohol consumption is so normalized. I personally choose not to drink it, even when going out to bars, and I don’t like the effect that it can have on people. Granted, much of my socialization comes from gay bars, so I’m around drunk people quite often. It’s so strange to me that it’s so normalized when it has such a strong negative effect on people and is responsible for so much violence and death. Granted, I used to drink, I used to do other things, so I understand that it often serves as an escape, but I’ve found that it really isn’t a good or healthy way to manage your emotions, and I really don’t think it should be praised the way it is in society.
